It is imperative that our work on site reflects the same level of professionalism as our office and desk based work. This extends from good general housekeeping i.e. running a tidy site, to ensuring that our client is fully protected by us under CDM 2015

CDM 2015

CDM 2015 came into force on 6th April, 2015, replacing CDM 2007. This is the principal H&S legislation that governs construction work in Great Britain. It applies to both domestic and commercial projects where there is more than one contractor working on a construction or building project.

How we manage CDM 2015

When acting as Principal Designer, our role would include specifying the works, designing out risk, and issuing you a Health and Safety File on completion.

When acting as Principal Contractor, our role would include the preparation of a Construction Phase Health and Safety plan as well as all RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), and we would take the sole responsibility for health and safety of your project until the works are complete. We would also be responsible for programming and overseeing the various subcontractors employed to undertake the works, for procuring materials and for leading the project.

If the project is large enough to require notifying the Health and Safety Executive of the planned works, we will do this via an F10 notification.

As we are able to act as both Principal Designer and as Principal Contractor we are reducing the need for numerous consultants (and additional fees) and we are also taking on full Health and Safety responsibility.

We are in turn overseen by Akeva Safety Solutions Ltd, an independent health and safety consultant.

Subcontractors are required to submit full risk assessments and method statements, they are required to carry tickets and permits relevant to plant and access equipment being operated and they are required to wear PPE at all times when on site.
